We are a longstanding family of choirs in the Edmonton and surrounding area established in 1966 by Edmonton Musician and Educator, the late Paul Bourret. We believe in offering our choristers the opportunity to learn under the direction of accomplished choral directors, Heather Bedford Clooney and Elaine Dunbar, and are given the opportunity to perform at a high level in seasonal concerts throughout the year.

We welcome singers of all skill levels and backgrounds, providing an inclusive and supportive environment. Our diverse repertoire offers something for everyone, from classical pieces to contemporary hits.

Come be a part of our musical family and create unforgettable memories through the power of song.

What Our Fans Are Saying

Testimonials

“As the Edmonton Columbian Choirs nears its Sixtieth Anniversary, I have a 35-year perspective on its evolution since my daughter first sang in the Girls’ Choir all those years ago.  Her continued involvement speaks to the sense of family the organization fosters.  Over time, ECC has adapted to changing times with new choirs, conductors, and repertoire, providing choristers with enjoyable and rewarding musical experiences and performance opportunities.  Each year culminates with Night on Broadway, the highlight of its season.

Congratulations to ECC for its musicality, community, and longevity.  May its remarkable success continue for many years to come!”

The Chanteuses is a community: we sing, we laugh, we celebrate.

Incidentally, we also make good choral music.

I really think if you asked any of us “is it the music and the concerts that keep you coming back?”

The answer would be, “well maybe that’s a part of it, we get to be on stage, to perform all the hard bits that we’ve worked really hard on”

But for many, or most of us, it’s being part of a community of women, celebrating each other.

Every woman brings a talent, an energy and a spirit that makes us much more than the sum of our parts.

I have been fortunate to attend almost all of the Columbian Choir concerts over the past 25 years and have enjoyed every one of them. My favourite has always been the Night on Broadway performances where we experience a mix of modern and old time Broadway music. A real delight.”
